Friends of
the School

The Friends of the
School group welcome new families to our school! The Friends of the
School are a group of parents and friends from all areas of the school. We work as a team with the Board, the BOT
and the staff to provide a link between the home and the school for the
benefit of our students. We have an active
committee. The committee meets once or
twice a term in the school staffroom.
Meetings’ dates are notified in the school newsletter and you are
welcome to come along and meet us and share any ideas. The Friends of the
School hold regular afternoon teas to welcome new parents and give them the
opportunity to meet other parents. We run a number of
fundraisers throughout the year to raise extra funds for the benefit of our
children. Our biannual school
fair is a wonderful event which not only raises funds for our school but it
sees large numbers of community members coming together to support our
school. Another
Silverstream institution which is hugely popular with the children and their
families is the annual desk sale held on the last Friday of term 4. Children use their entrepreneurial skills
when making items for sale and stocking their stalls. Each Friday we hold
the popular Friday BBQ with many of the students enjoying the opportunity to
order a sausage, cookie or a juicie for lunch. Twice a year we run
a fun evening disco for Silverstream children. If you would like
